Well today we had the all star crew. Eric the mortgageman, Blackfish Doug, Joe Jigs, Bottom Bouncer and a "dunkin donuts" guy.
The bite sucked.
Made a few moves and adjustments too. Didnt have a bite all day. 1,000,000 dogs to add to the frustration.
Called it an early day. Ended up with 10 keeps to around 4 or 5lbs.
Thanks again. Another day........
Capt Kris
Had KurtisB, Daryl and Frank only today. Had a few guys bail last minute, we went anyway.
Broke the inlet around 6:45am. Cold brisk N wind. Made our way up and set up on our first drop. Had a couple good bites, but the fish wouldnt commit. Picked a few keepers here and there, and dogs.
Set up on another piece and it was the same. Slow scratchy bite all day. Just a pick, Sucked. Moved out deep and tons of shorts few keeps.
Wiggle wiggle wiggles....... Here and there.
Went back in to DOG CITY.
Summary for today, KurtisB was high hook with his limit to 8lbs+ with all healthy fish. Daryl and Frank clearly fish together alot because they just crack jokes all day. Lol. Mate Capt Chad did a nice job today too. Also we caught about 75 dogs. Shallow deep didnt matter.
The guys finished with there limit plus, some nice roasters to 8lbs+.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL, from the Fish Stix Crew!!!!
Capt Kris
Had a great crew today consisting of Maury, Mike, Ben, Al, and Bill.
Broke the inlet to a beautiful ocean with a big swell. Made our way north and set up shop. Picked a keeper or 2 there. Made a move and got them chewing for a minute. Striper63 was high hook and the pool winner! Everyone else picked a few here and there. Scratchy bite for us today. Wasnt our day at all.
We tried hard, making moves, wiggle here, wiggle there. Just picking in flurries. Couldnt finish the job. Ended our day with 20 Blackfish to 8lbs, with 90% of them 5lbs+. So we did have some MEAT and BEAUTIFUL weather!
Today was our day to christen the new ride with a boat limit, but FAILED!
But nice effort today boys!
Cancelled for tomorrow due to weather.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS TO ALL!
Capt Kris
Today we had the Jim Barber charter once again with Nicole, Pete and Dave. With the south wind coming, I decided to change it up and go for the stripers. Jim was PUMPED.
Broke the inlet early and made our way to the bass grounds. Seen about a billion boats trolling and what not, didnt look good. Stopped on some birds, but no bass readings and made another look.
Looked around for not more then 10 minutes and we read em pretty good. First drift put 6 keepers in the boat to around 22lbs or so. Multiple hook ups around the boat. Next drift a few more and so on. Limited the boat in less then 90 minutes with Nicole being killer high hook with about 8 keeper bass. The guys also had there limits+. Catch and release for a while with nice keepers, 1 short for the day and a couple of doggies.
The south fan turned on and we were outtie.
Total tally for the day was about 20-25 NICE fall bass 1 short and 2 dogs. Keeping 12 for the crew. Another beautiful day on the water.
Thanks guys!
Back at the blackfish tomorrow.
Capt Kris
Today we had an open boat blackfish trip with Tim, Dan, Pete and Rolland and special guest mate Captain Chad, Sea Soda.
Bite started off prettttttty slow, but Pete and Rolland were catching a few. Tim and his son Dan were new to the togging and were getting some bites but couldnt come tight.
Made a few shifts and picked a few nice ones. Headed out to another spot and finally got em going decent.
After a BEAUTIFUL late November day and the crew fishing hard, we managed our limit to 8lbs. Lost of nice 5-6 pounders in the mix too. Pete was killer high hook, Rolland had his limit or more, Tim learned quick and had his limit+ and Dan got the hang of it later on catching 5 keeps or more, but at last call caught an 8 that was released.
Nice job guys!
At it again tomorrow.
