Yesterday was cancelled, so today was our first trip of the season. Had Matt, Scott, Mike, Bob and Hanz out today for stripers. Broke the inlet and started looking. Wasnt looking good. After looking for a few minutes we finally found the mother load. All by ourselves with fish rolling and actually crashing into the boat. Shit you wish to see. Immediate hook ups 3 and 4 on at a time. Lost a few and had a couple blues break them off. Just when I thought it was gonna be a lights out bite, the fleet found us and the fish DISAPPEARED. For good. Rest of the day sucked. Marks with no bites and even tried trolling, nada. Finished the day out trying to live line but again nothing. Ended the day with 8 stripers to 25lbs and 2 blues.
Today we had Scott, Ed, Doug, Matt, Andy and John for those toggies. Headed to the first drop and in seconds Ed puts a 9+ in on the first bite. Things were looking like some suicide blackfish were in town. Hung out for a while picking both shorts and keepers. The wind turned on and had to wiggle around.
Few wiggles and the same bite. Scratch here, scratch there or one slam and cleaned off. Definitely not the bite we thought it was gonna be. Stuck around in the same area making minor anchor adjustments and resets, again picking here and there.
Later in the day we went inshore a bit and tried for some more. Only picked a few keeps here, some shorts and we found the dogs. Tried for the boat limit, but came up 2 fish short, pulling the plug after 4:30pm.
Most of the fish were pretty solid. Ed had the first fish and the biggest. Andy had one over 8, plus his limit+. Matt finally washed off the skunk with almost a double limit, Scott caught a few nice ones too. Doug and John also had a limit or close to it.
Couldnt ask for a nicer day on the water. Beautiful weather for January!
Ended the day with 30 solid keepers.
Thanks again fellas!

Had an open blackfish trip today with Matt, Jeff, Rob, Sal and Aj. Headed north in the icy boat for the first drop. Started off where they have been chewing. Very slow scratchy bite for most of the morning. Picked keepers, dogs and tons of shorts. Looked like a lot of life. Sal pulled a nice 6# on his 2nd tog trip ever.
Made a move out to sgr hoping for a better bite. The fan turned on to 25kn and 3ft seas. Wasnt making it any easier for us. Pulled a few keepers dogs and shorts here too. Matt had a nice 8lb cod and Rob also got a nice one. Aj has his limit. Jeff, hes still learning, he had 1 or 2.
Another day of blackfish not cooperating. Covered some ground, but couldnt finish the job. Ended up with 11 tog to 6# and 2 cod to 8#.
Thanks again guys.

Had Tim, Dan, Capt Steve(Legacy), Richie and Matt today for the first trip of the year. Went right back to where we left em biting yesterday. Started with a slow pick of shorts, keeps and dogs. Wasnt looking too bad. What a beautiful morning it was, flat as a lake and almost t-shirt weather. Couldnt ask for more.
Stayed on the piece and stuck it out for the afternoon bite that it has been. Wind shifted and had to re set. Life died out. Wiggled around a couple times. Lots of life but scratchy bites all day. Lots of shorts too. Then the south wind picked up to 30 knots and seas built to 4-5ft. Called it a day a bit early due to conditions not getting any better. Back at the dock around 3:30.
Ended up with 14 decent keepers today. Not a good way to start off the new year. But we tried our best. Sorry no pictures today.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Today we had the Brandon Lee charter out for a tog fest. Started off the morning with shorts and dogs, picking a couple of keepers here and there. Made another drop and it was the same. Looked like another day in the dog pound.
Went inshore for another drop and picked a few decent fish. Then zero life after that. Took a ride northeast hoping for something to change.
Set up shop around 1pm or so. Had some good flurries of nice 4-5lb fish. Put 5 in the boat wait 20 minutes for a bite and so on.... Made a little wiggle and finally got what we were looking for. 6's, 8's and 9's hitting the deck, one after the other. Solid fish here. Most fish ranged from 4-7lbs, couple 8's and 9's too.
Headed back to the dock with a boat limit of 48 keepers to 9lbs. Very nice day out on the water for December 31st. Cant ask for better weather!
Thanks guys, nice job!
