Only had Murray and Bob today for Black Friday Blackfish. Pretty good conditions, but we just couldn't get a good bite going.
Reset a few times to pick here or there. Very slow day, barely any shorts either.
Moved a couple miles north to give it a shot and it was the same. Went back a little south and also out to deeper water and had a 30 minute window of a steady pick at some keeps.
Made one last drop where we started in the early a.m. to see if they got going and nope!
Ended up today with 11 keepers to 6lbs. Another tough day of blackfishing. Very scratchy bites and the last few fish were ICE cold.
At it again tomorrow.

Today we had some NJFishing members: Sportfishingusa, Sharkyspy, Fishbone and Kenny for a shot at some Blackfish.
Got to our spot nice and early once again, only to be greeted by the super fast moving south current. Bites were very scratchy and here and there. Picking at shorts with a keeper or 2 mixed in.
Second drop it was the same. Couple of shifts produced nothing. Waited it out for a bit, only to pull the anchor and go deeper.
Went east for a try. Finally, somewhat of a bite I guess you can say. We worked really hard for them but managed to get a few keeps to around 5-6lbs or so.
Sportfishingusa had his limit, with Fishbone tailing and Sharkyspy right behind them. Grinded out 18 keepers for the dinner table. Would have stuck it out, but the SE wind and chop came in hard so we had to jet out. Got our butts kicked pretty bad on the way in.
Tough day to say the least. But we gave it hell. Nice job today guys and thanks again!

Had Scubanut(Ryan, the birthday boy), Andrew, Murray and Charles out for those togs today. Got to the grounds early this morning. Winds once again were very strong and ripping current wasn't making it any easier than yesterday.
Picked some fish here and there. Making a bunch of adjustments and moving around. Nothing big today, maybe 5-6lbs.
After working VERY hard for these fish today, we did manage 1 fish short of our limit. Ryan had his limit+ taking the high hook, Murray just behind him and the others contributed too.
We put in a long day(toooo long for Andrew) and did pull some fish. Had a great crew aboard today, even with the ball busting! Happy Birthday Ryan. Thanks again guys!
At it again tomorrow.

Had the Lee charter aboard today for blackfish. Had a late start today, due to the charter's request. 3 newbie toggers today too. Made our way to the spot in the stiff nw wind. Set up by 7:45am and a couple shorts released quickly. Got a couple keepers, but it was very slow so we picked up and made a move. But actually didnt pick up, lost the anchor. So we grappled(which I hate more than anything) the rest of the day. After we dropped that stupid hook thing, we picked here and there, but today was not our day. We coudlnt get these fish to cooperate. Cant win em all everyday.
Very strong wind and current today. Pouring rain sucked too! Really felt like late November Togging.
Ended up boxing 11 keepers to 7lbs today. Caught and released a ton of shorts. Just couldnt get it done today.. :(
Tomorrow's another day.

After a last minute charter cancellation due to the rain, posted an Open Boat trip for today but was too late.
Had mates AJ & Jesse with me today, we didn't melt by the way.
Made our first drop by 6:30am. A steady bite for a bit. Had our 3 man limit to 7lbs by 8am. I was not the killer today, catching maybe 1.5 man limit. Jesse, a little better with at least a 2 man limit. But AJ the killer with a 3 man limit +++ with 5's, 6's and 7's! Nice Job AJ.
Picked up and wanted to see some life on another spot. Bite was okay, but current was completely gone. Rain was on its way, so we headed in by 11:30am.
Anyway after only a couple of hours, we had our 18 fish in the box with lots of releasing.
Happy Tog Season!
At it again tomorrow.
