Friday was a 12pm start with ChaosStarter and his buddy, NJ Dave, Dave and their 2 friends. Out the inlet to get bait, and once again it was tough. After snagging and throwin the net, we were good to go.
Started off on our first area, close to home. Fish on right away. Then nothing. After a few more drifts, I decided to go looking. Found them. Spraying all over and crashing our baits up top nice. Stuck around catching some nice fish until they pretty much stopped biting.
Ended our evening with a 6 man limit of bass to about 32-33lbs. Guys were great, nice job, thanks again.
Thursday night 5/24 we had Mikes charter out for bass. We werent able to leave the dock till 4:30pm, due to their schedules. Broke the inlet to very scattered bait. After wayyyyy too much time snagging, we could finally go fishing. Worked most of our areas till 9pm or so, with nothing to show for it. The guys tried hard and never left the rail. Cant get em everyday.
Today we had the boys from NJSWF.com out for some Striped ones. Crew consisted of Rod, Bob, Kenney, Ed, Paul and Joe. Broke the inlet and started making bait. SLOW. Bunks were tough to snag, let alone throw a net on them. After 2 hours of snagging, we went fishing. First spot and second spot, NADA. Set up where we caught em last night and had some fish blow up on our baits, but couldnt come tight.
Heard there was a pick of fish a few minutes away. Loaded the net with fresh bait and made the run. Got to the area and it was GAME ON. Fish rolling and busting up top. Awesome. Topwater worked good today too. The fish were aggressive as could be. Crashing baits like crazy. Fishfinder was LOADED top to bottom. Best readings all year! The guys had some fun with these fish for a while before it ended.
Slow start today, but ended right. Had the guys limit of fish to 38lbs. Heard some FUNNY ASS jokes today too! Lottttttttttttsssss of laughs. The crew had a great time and did an awesome job on the fish. Thanks again Boys!
Today we hosted a last minute afternoon open boat trip for stripers. Had Ryan, Nick, Peter and Jesse out for some live lining.
Broke the inlet and looked for some bait. Very broken up and couldnt get the net on em. Snagged a few and went looking. Got a call from Capt Jerry P who said he had some fish working. Set up and had bites in no time, just couldnt come tight.
Made a move to the east and got em going. Nice fish blowing up on top. Ended up going 5 for 10 or so. Most fish were in the 30lb class with one around 40 and another maxed out our 50lb scale!
Very nice evening out with some nice fish biting. Only had about a 45 minute window to catch em and they were gone. But the 50+lb was worth it all. Ryan will have that one mounted! The guys did great, thanks again!
At it again tomorrow.
Ready for this, had Dan, Dan, Dan, Matt, Josh and a "no show" for bass today. Made bait very quickly and went looking. Set for a drift and the bass are blowing up the baits in no time. Went 1 for 6 or so on a few drifts in that area. Kept looking around. Set up on what was gonna be our last shot of stripers and quit to go seabass, we put 1 more in the box with a few more run offs, including Matts MONSTER. He had a fish of a lifetime on. Turned the hook back in the bait and gone. So there was hope and the guys wanted to give it hell with the stripes. Bad turn out. Fish were not commited today. One bite and gone. Atleast a beautiful day out on the water. The guys tried there best. Thanks again guys. Sorry no photos today.
