On Friday 7/13 we had Dan Clarks crew along with the lone Ryan (Scubanut) out for fluke. Covered lots of areas and tons of drifts with not too many fish to show for it. Tough bites, but Ryan DID have his limit. Ended the day with 13 keepers and a ling. Thanks again guys.
Ran an open boat today with some tough fishing to be had. Had lots of bites both shorts and keepers. The crew worked there tails off for a nice cooler full of fluke!
Saturday we had a charter Cancel so we ran an open boat trip with A great crew! Started out where we have been catchin em and put 12 or so on the first drift. Drift died out and had to bump around and cast out, they still bit. Stayed in the same area all day and worked a 6 man limit by 2pm. Matt was high hook with around 13 keepers himself. Joshs first time bucktailing he had around 7. Everyone else did a nice job catching a limit too! All decent fish to around 4 lbs or so. Ended the day around 3pm with 31 keepers and a JUMBO 4-5lb seabass.
Today we had Tim's charter with his brother, 2 sons and nephew. The guys have never bucktailed fluke before, but we gave it a shot. First thing in the morning was a picky bite boxing a keeper or 2. Made a move and found the stash of fluke. They bit like crazy again today. Only had 2 or 3 of the guys at the rail, the others were sleeping beauties. The guys tried there best at it and boxed up 10 nice ones to 5lbs in a short amount of time. I called over Capt Jerry P, who had some all stars, and they cleaned the bottom up!
If you can catch them, you will kill them. Past couple trips there has been a great fluke bite. Some guys can catch em, some are still learning the real way to bucktail. Anyway, the drift died and the guys called it a day around 1:15pm. Ill put you on the meat, but cant put em on your hook!
Today we ran an open boat with Darren(the high hook with 8 - 10 keepers), Bill (with 7), Tom, Alice, Charley and youngster Ryan. Tom, Alice, Charley and Ryan were new to fluke and bucktailing. They learned and caught some keeps. The bite started off slow with wind against tide. Made tons of moves picking a couple here and there. Later on in the day we found the motherload. Couldnt get all of them to the boat, but they were biting like hell. Lots of short biting today and with the south wind and south current later in the day it was easy to drop them. Darren lost a monster, a real heartbreaker, double digit for sure. Couple nice 6-7 lbers with majority of the fish 3-5lbs. Nice day on the water today.
Ended the day with 20 keepers to 7lbs or so. Quality fish today. Guys did great, thanks again!
