Today we had Nick, Nick, Jason and his Dad, Tim and Danny out for our final Fluke trip of the 2012 season. Fishing has been very slow, but the guys wanted to give it a shot anyway. Headed to the grounds and got to work on the sea robins and shorts. The wind and waves came on quick, but the guys wanted to stick it out. They fished very hard, at the rail all day in the snot and stiff wind with only a hand full of keepers to show for it. We had a great fluke season this year and we cannot complain! Sorry no pictures today.
Saturday 9/15 we ran an Open Boat fluke trip. Took a left for the first time in a while. Made out way north to our first drop, nothing. Went way north and instantly started picking keepers. Tough fishing today with the 20 knot north wind, but the guys worked very hard through the paved bottom of sea robins and skates. Coulda filled the Bonar box to the top with those things. Anyway, a few had there limits of fluke. Nothing real big, but ended the day with 18 keepers. Nice job guys. Thanks again.
Saturday 9/1 we had Evan, Bill and the Jersey Boys consisting of Jim, John, John and Dave. Not much to say today. Same spot all day. The boys crushed em. Jimmy Lee with high hook and Everyone else caught the balls off em too. Probably 400 fish caught today including 52 keepers! Obviously only keeping our legal boat limit of 40. Awesome day guys, thanks again.
Friday 8/31 we had Mike, Murray, Gary and Jim out for the fat flatties. Started off in the area where we got em yesterday. Started very slow then turned to a steady pick. Eventually that ended and had to make a move. Next stop finished us off with our boat limit of 30 keepers to 7lbs. Murray was the HOT HAND with just over a double limit. Mike had his+ Gary caught a bunch and Jim had his limit too! Great day on the water once again. Nice job guys, thanks again.
Thursday 8/30 we ran an open boat fluke trip with Bobby Longggggg, George, Keith, John and Mark. Started off slow with some shorts and only a few keeps. Really was a struggle to start. Capt Allen Reel Class gave us a heads up there were some fish where he was. Went over that way to pick a couple here and there with a million shorts mixed in. It was busy fishing and fun for the guys, but I had to make a move. Made a smart one and we started bailing fish in the 3-5lb range, 5-9 keepers a drift. The guys busted there asses to put a catch together and they got the job done with a boat limit. Bobby Long was high hook with a double limit and Keith and John right up his tail. The guys did great and it was a nice day on the water. Thanks again guys!
