Friday 10/12 we had Joe Urso and the boys out for seabass. Made out way to the grounds, but another day of keeping us inshore. We opted to go for some porgies. Hit a couple spots and it wasn't too great, fish being picky with baits. Caught some porgies and the guys wanted to try for seabass. North wind honking at least 25-30knots. Went off a bit but to takers, hit another bunch of spots with only a couple keepers. The guys called it quits and we headed in. Way to stick it out as long as you did, thanks guys. Ended with a basket of porgies(about 40 or so) a couple seabass and a trigger.
Today we had Murray, Steve, Rich, Carmen, Nick and Jeff for seabass. First drop was DROP AND REEL. Soon as it hits the bottom, reel right back up. Double header keepers all day. Multiple fish over 4lbs too. Rich was high hook with his limit plus. And everyone else was at least close to it. Had 125 keepers by 10:30am. The bite COMPLETELY SHUT OFF around 12pm. Hit 30 drops to only catch another 15 or so. Tried as hard as we could could get our limit, just wasnt gonna happen. Beautiful day on the water today. Lots of nice fish. The guys pulled their asses off. Thanks again guys!
Sunday 9/30 we had Dave, Aj, Billy and Mike out for seabass. Did some exploratory fishing and it was a dud! Went back to where we have been catching some nice seabass and it was still very slow. Worked a few areas today with not much to show for the efforts. Weeded through a lot of shorts, Berguls and small blues too. The guys fished there tails off and finished the day with 61 keeper seabass to around 3-4lbs and a couple of nice triggers and made it back kinda early for the games.
Today we had Scott, Hanz, Bob, Paul, Albert and Lou out for sea bass. Made our way to the grounds and got set up in the rain and weird wind. Picked a bunch and had to wiggle. Got a few more there. Second drop only produced another few here and there. Next stop was drop and reel for a while boxing around 40-50 nice fish. Had to bounce around for a bit to different areas, cuz the fish weren't biting. Only got a few. Went back to the spot we caught em good, to try and finish us off, but only produced about 20 keepers. All in all non stop action all day, beautiful out there today.
Ended the day with 101 seabass to 4lbs, 1 nice blackfish, a keeper weakfish and a trigger. Nice job boys!
Today we had Ron's charter out for some bottom fishing. Since the fluke fishing is very slow, we opted to go for seabass. Broke the inlet to a beautiful ocean. Not long after, 30 knot North wind came on strong. We had a couple ladies under the weather due to higher seas, but we stuck it out inshore. The bite wasnt very good, so we hit a bunch of spots in 30-40ft of water and had only about 10 seabass and some triggers. Finally the wind died out so we can get to the 60ft range and it was pretty good. Put another 15 seabass, 3 fluke and a trigger in the box quick and had to pull the hook early to get the charter home. They had a great time and still went home with 25 seabass, 3 fluke, 3 triggers. Not bad for what it was worth. Thanks guys!
