Friday 11/30 we had Ed, Ken, Pete, Keith, Bill and Joe Tuna Tales out for blackfish. Right away on the way to the grounds I noticed the south current and no wind, yay. Got set up in terrible conditions and it was a slowwwwww pick. Kept sliding off the piece due to us pretty much drift with the anchors slack. Made about 1,000 shimmies and wiggles. Just couldn't get the bite started today. Finally the wind switched east and south current died, we were able to spread the anchors. Had a very slow pick once again. Fished a long day with a ton of shorts, a couple nice ling and 17 keeper blackfish. Stopped on some birds on the way home and the bait was loaded. Managed to jig 1 short striper and called it quits. Tomorrows another day. Thanks guys.
No photos today....
Thursday 11/29 we had Steve, Eddie, Bob and Matt out for blackfish. Fished the same area again and right when the anchors were spread it was game on. Fish flying over the rails for about an hour. Slowed a bit and picked for a while. Little wiggles and had em chewing again. Couple nice fish around 5-6lbs and up to about 9lbs or so. Eddie smoked em with over a double limit and everyone else had a limit + as well. Beautiful day out today. Had our boat limit around 12pm and played c&r for a few before we called it quits. Ended the day with 40+ keepers, only keeping our legal limit of course. Nice job guys!
Wednesday 11/28 we had Hanz, Bob, Wayne, Chris and Barron out for the tog. One stop shopping today. No wiggles no other drops. Savage bite. 2-3 keepers coming over the rail at a time. Finally, a decent bite. Clean water today too. Had out entire boat limit by 11:30am then c & r for a bit an the guys calls it quits. Had as many shorts as keepers. Nice roasters around. 3-4lbs and the big fish of the day around 8lbs. Solid action all day. Ended the day with 42 keepers. Nice job and thanks again boys!
Monday 11/26 we had Bruce, Bob, Nethan, Bobby John and John out for tog. Headed way north to start off. Lines in and game on. With shorts. Booooooo! Couple keepers mixed in as well. Wiggled a bit and the same. Spent some time here cuz there were definitely fish here, but no improvement. Went out east and the bite was a bit better, but the second you got em goin they turned off. Weird. Used white leggers and greens today, not much of a difference. Tough bite once again, but the guys managed 18 keepers and about 70 shorts. Heard there was a nice bite way up north but it was tooooo late :( cancelled tomorrow....
Thanks guys!
Sunday 11/25 we had Tim, Dan, Doc, Sean, Charley and Ed out for blackfish. Changed it up and made a right out of our inlet. Got set up and the bites were all around the boat. All shorts, but nice fat ones to. 14.90". A little upsetting. We had solid bites all day with fish comin over the rail most of the time. Few wiggles here and there, but they just wouldn't commit today. They were there but... I dunno..... Changed it up and went northeast. Instant action with a better ratio of keepers to shorts. The guys worked there butts off all day looking for those keeps but it just wasn't meant to be. Ended the day with 13 keepers with a couple around 5lbs and a nice ling. See what tomorrow brings....
Nice job, thanks again guys.
