Had another striper/tog trip again today. Headed down south again to the jig bite. It wasnt too hot for us, but we did manage our limit by 11am to around 20lbs or so.
Went to our togging grounds up by home. Had 2 newbie toggers aboard(Sharkispy and Bing). Thought it was game on with the first fish in the boat hittin the scale over 7.5lbs, but the bite was dead. Bing started to get the hang of it, catching keeper sized togs. Sharky on the other hand, after catching a bunch of keepers, slammed an 8+ pounder to the deck on his first tog trip ever! Congrats Mike!
After another day of great weather and around 70 miles again, catching a slow pick of bass and realeasing a couple. Also, catching around 20-30 keeper size togs. We went home with a limit of Stripers to around 20lbs and a limit of Blackfish to 8+lbs.
Thanks again guys.

Had an Open Boat trip today with Jeff, Jesse, Darren and Nick, for stripers then togs.
Headed down south and jigged a limit of bass by 10am and the bite was over. Just in time!
Made the LONGGGG run up north to the blackfish grounds. Bite was very slow at first. Couple shorts and a few keeper togs. Reset the anchor and got them going okay. Had roughly 40-50 keeper size blackfish today. (keeping our legal limit, of course). Pretty slow bite, but we managed. Nick had high hook with about 20 himself. Couple PB's today. Darren with a 10lb, Jesse a 9lb, and Jeff with a 4 or 5lb.
After covering 70+ miles today, Total keepers for the day was 8 stripers to 15lbs and 5 togs, 2- 5lbers, a 8,9 and 10 lber.
Thanks again guys!

Had another Open Boat trip today for Stripers in the am and Blackfish after. Only had a crew of 3 today. Headed to the same place as yesterday and started looking. Read loads of bait the entire time once again. But no stripes. Off to the rocky stuff.....
Got to the piece and dropped the hook. Instant bite to 5 lbs. Turned off for a bit, but then we got them chewing okay. Pretty slow day, but still boated 40-45 keeper, no measure Togs to 7lbs.
Kept our legal limit of 6's & 7 lbers. Very nice late October day of fishing. Great crew and fun to have aboard. See you guys in a few weeks!

Had our Striper/Blackfish Open Boat trip today with Big Joe, Nate, Jimmy and Mike. Made a left and started looking for bait in the dark, nothing. Got to the north and read bait the WHOLE time, but no takers on the jigs. So we left there and headed for some Togs.
Got set up and waited. And waited. And waited. Then we got em going. Mike was crushing them to around 3lbs or so until later he caught all 5's or so. Then the steady pick began. Jimmy did a hell of a job swinging nice fish into the boat and also giving Big Joe some great pointers. Nate did the same, along with a nice 7 3/4 pounder. Big Joe was a first time togger today, his second fish was a solid 8lbs on the scale and he picked 4's and 5's for the rest of the day.
After a nice day out fishing, we had a decent bite with lots of 5-6lbers getting tossed back. Around 50 keeper size togs or so for the day. Great day on the water with an awesome crew!

Mate Jesse and I went out looking for some stripers today. Read lots of bait and fish crashing up top. Had one shot at some fish and got caught in the blues with break offs, and they were gone. Off to the rocky bottom we went.....
Got set up and finally after about an hour, we got em chewing. And it was on. Probably had about 30-40 keeper size togs to 8lbs. Most of them ranged 5-6lbs.
Cant forget "the one that got away"...... Jesse hooked into a "decent" one, but I saw his rod and ran to the bow for the net. Right as I was going to the water that old bastard said **** you, im out! Went straight down and snap! Fish was 100% 12lbs +.
Fished the rocky stuff for 3 hours and headed home keeping a total of 2 toggies around 5lbs each. Had to get out on this very nice October day, before this crappy weather hits!
